AEPA-Euskadi in the bask parliament during the approval of the new law

On 29 june 2007 the new law about assistance dogs was approved in the bask parliament. Now any person with any disability can take his assistance dog with him anywhere, and not only blind people.
HOW WE GOT THIS LAW
On 2006 AEPA made a proposal to the bask people defender ("Ararteko") to ask the politicians to elaborate a new law concerning the rights of the assistance dogs owners. The final doccument was approved by the Commission and on 29 june and we could see how the new law was finally approved. For us it was a very exciting day: we felt very proud and thankful to all the politicians who eliminated a new kind of discrimination. Thank you to all the persons that have participated in this process: the "Ararteko office", Mertxe Agundez and all the persons in the Commission. Then, a commission started to elaborate the definitive document. AEPA-Euskadi could participate giving information about assistance dogs and training.
