Unai, Iñaki and Nika started to work in the gerontolic center "San José" in Erandio in june 2006, at first together with the Red Cross but since janueary 2007 with AEPA-Euskadi. This activity has been done by free till august 2007.
Each saturday morning, during one hour and a half, they do some activities with the dog Nika: little walks, petting, grooming and so on. They also work in cognitive and affective aspects depending on what the psychologist Unai and the director of the center, Marisa, decide.
These sessions are highly motivating and the participants keep a very good memory about them during the whole week. Of course the presence of Nika is very important, all the aged women have a picture of her in their room and they wait with impatiente her arrival the next saturday.
From september 2007 these sessions will take place during the week and inside a new project of AAT.
