In february 2007 we had several meetings with the director team of th gerontological center Egogain (Eibar) in order to offer a programme of AAT for two groups of aged people.
The proposal had a very good acceptance from the Director and the Psychologist of the Center, who already knew the works with Animal Assisted Activities as they were living for 5 years with Bona, a labrador 9 years old, that had made big changes in the human relationships in the center: responsabilities from the residents (taking her for a walk), less conflicts and more relax.
The two programmes started in april 2007.
The first group with Iņaki and Nika and the second group with Alain and Txispa. In both gropus, Irene, the psychologist, and Begoņa, the director of the center, follow actively the organization and developpement of the sessions.
