"The friendly paw" (saturday from 10:00 to 13:00)
When I reach out my hand it is to say hello to somebody in a friendly, or at least polite way. When I stretch out my hand to an animal it should have the same purpose and for the other one to understand. My hand should have the energy to establish a bond between myself and another living creature.

Dogs do not always reach out paws, but their attitude and way of showing their politeness and friendliness is just as clear as the hand you offer. We just have to read them right, and accept their friendly paw.

"A walk in the park" (saturday from 15:00 to 15:40)
Some thoughts and ideas to make walks with our dogs interesting, safer and more enjoyable. Will include some handling techniques and games to practice which help dogs to gain in confidence and social skills. I do 5 different social walk classes each week and find them invaluable for enhancing social skills and coping strategies and whilst great for the dogs it really helps owners to increase their skills and confidence as well.

Easier everyday life — the dog as a little helper (sunday from 11:00 to 11:40)
Chasing balls and Frisbees and marathon-length walks are, surprisingly to many owners, not what a dog enjoys most. All dogs love to be useful in one way or another.

In this revealing little talk Emppu shows that once you have discovered your dog’s talent, the sky’s the limit in what it will happily help you with, given the right dog-oriented approach. This is valuable for the owner of any breed, from the Chihuahua to the Great Dane.

"Show me your dog and I will tell you, who you are." (sunday from 12:30 to 12:50)
Every time I visit my client, this is not only a dog and his behaviour that I am looking at. I look at owners, the place dog lives in. Everything is important and can help me to find the way to help the client and his dog. Dogs tell me what is the problem, but this is people and surrounding who tells me why. This is very important to know as much about dog and his daily life as possible. Each case is a unique story, were not only dogs but also people need help. How to help, not judging and not hurting anybody. How to change people and dogs, without force and criticism? How to explain, why and what to do, encouraging client to use techniques and methods, we advice to use.

"Wolf-pack hunting strategy: An emergent collective behaviour described by a classical robotic model. " (sunday from 15:00 to 15:40)
Wolf-pack social behaviours are considered highly organized social mechanisms in which a sophisticated communication system plays an essential role. Among these complex social interactions, wolf-pack hunting strategies are often presented as the proof that a social structure sustains the relation between pack members, and, still, that this social structure is based on hierarchical rules. Our robotic model simulations show that hunting in packs is an emergent group behaviour which does not necessarily rely on effective communication between the individuals participating in the hunt. With special emphasis, it is shown that no hierarchy is needed in the group to achieve the task properly.

Dog-oriented dog care (sunday from 16:30 to 17:30)
There are many ways of running a daily dog care, not all of them good for the dog even it they are useful for the owners. In this brief introduction, Raili explains how the Rakkaat Haukut – Happy Dog day care centres are set up and what a typical day looks like. There is plenty of enrichment but most importantly plenty of time for our four-legged friends simply to chill out and relax in each other’s company.
